Unit of Inquiry: Light and Dark

Kinder have been very busy investigating light and dark sources. We finished our Night and Day storyboards. Some questions and answers came up like: “What happens at night? “Only little creatures come out at night”.  “ The moon only makes a little bit of light so it’s not so bright like day” and “ The sun makes the day bright”.

They also enjoyed our Inquiry table – including flashlights, small mirrors, coloured cellophane, color paddles, batteries, model of the earth, sun and moon, lamps, x-rays and a kaleidoscope. “ Do you know that flashlights use batteries to work?” “Look I can see through my hand”.

Shadows

Kindergarten had a wonderful time watching a beautiful puppet shadow show by a talented artist from Viterbo named Saskia. After watching the enchanting play the children then had the opportunity to make their own miniature screens and puppets. WHAT FUN!
