Through play and discovery the children were able to practice a series of pre-reading, reading, and comprehension skills. They have been exploring the
alphabet, letters sounds, concepts of print and books. They are now
demonstrating knowledge of the alphabet and are able to identify and sound out
letters to form words. The children are engaged in creating signs for their
shops, receipts, magazines, comic books, and much more for their role-play
areas.
